Want to create beautiful art tiles like these?

Love detailed drawing, beautiful patterns and relaxing colouring?

Our William Morris Inspired Decorative Tile Art course takes inspiration from the beautiful botanical patterns and decorative designs associated with William Morris.

Throughout the year, students will create a collection of intricate decorative tiles using coloured pencils, exploring flowers, leaves, symmetry, repeating patterns and ornamental design.

Each tile takes approximately two hours to complete, so most projects will be spread across two weekly lessons. In the first lesson, we'll carefully draw and build the pattern, learning how the different elements fit together. In the following lesson, we'll bring the design to life with colour, developing coloured-pencil techniques such as blending, layering and shading.

The course is designed to be calm and enjoyable, with clear step-by-step guidance throughout. Students can work at their own pace while developing their drawing skills, attention to detail and confidence with coloured pencils.

The course runs throughout the school year, with 36 weekly art activities across three terms.
